This Christmas by Emma Heatherington

What a cosy feel, good read.   I love Emma Heatherington’s latest book, it combines some of my favourite things, cosy feels, a dog, a suitable love interest, the image of rural Ireland, and of course Christmas.    It is difficult to write something refreshing in the increasingly crowded market of festive fiction, but This Christmas is one of the standout stories of 2023, I highly recommend snuggling up with a mug of hot chocolate and something nice to nibble on whilst you are enveloped in this 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 star read. My thanks to Netgalley and Penguin for allowing me to read and review.  Purchase Links: Amazon UK:  https://www.amazon.co.uk/This-Christmas-romantic-story-Holiday/dp/1804941859 Amazon US:  https://www.amazon.com/This-Christmas-romantic-story-Holiday/dp/1804941859 Kobo:  https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/this-christmas-33 Waterstones:  https://www.waterstones.com/book/this-christmas/emma-heatherington/9781804941850

The French Chateau Dream by Julie Caplin 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It was a little different to the previous books in the Romantic Escape series, but this is not a bad thing, I don’t know if it was intended but I went into it thinking it was going to be different as this was the first cover in series with a person on the front.     I really enjoyed it. Every character was so engaging, even Chris, though I really did not like him, controversial because of his own issues, but he was too lifelike to my ex-brother-in-law (also named Chris). Felicity’s arrival was a pleasant surprise and an excellent companion for Hattie and Solange.   The story spoke to me because Hattie is trying to find her place in the world and escaping the pressure of taking being the the one who is always relied on, with Luc she goes on her journey, not only finding love, but friends to build a family around.    My thanks to the author Julie Caplin, the publishers One More Chapter and Netgalley for allowing me to read this story, it was everything...

Summer Wedding by Sarah Morgan

Image
Not your typical romance novel, but that's what makes it so special.  This is a story more of familial love than romantic love, though romance does run through like a subplot.  Summer Wedding explores the family dynamics between a mother and best selling author Catherine Swift and her two daughters, Adeline, who is estranged and Cassie, Adeline's half sister, the family was split in two when Cassie was very young, the eldest daughter sent to live with her father, losing her mother and sister overnight.  Over the years, the gap in their relationships has only widened, but news of Catherine's impending marriage on the island of Corfu will bring the truth out in the open and only time will tell if it mean old wound or drive a permanent wedge between them. A 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 emotional rollercoaster where you feel for every character. The Christmas Trip by Sandy Barker

An absolute joy being reunited with Lucy, Chloe and Jules, this story goes beyond their solo stories and brings the May ladies back together with new partners, their insecurities and shows that the romance is just the beginning.  🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommend, but must read the other books in the series first.
