A Lovely Read
I did enjoy A Springtime Affair, with its quirky cast of characters and wide-reaching plot.
I did enjoy the variety of personalities, from Helena and her mother, who were very easy to imagine to the diet devil sister in law and the creepy beau were true to form and really helped to add depth to the plot. The one character who I struggled with was Jago, to begin with, he was approachable but once his friendship with Helena develops into something more, he seems to flounder on the page. 
On the other hand, the supporting cast of aunts, accountant and granddaughter helped in finding happiness, be it with the love of their lives or with brownies.

This Christmas by Emma Heatherington

  What a cosy feel, good read.   I love Emma Heatherington’s latest book, it combines some of my favourite things, cosy feels, a dog, a suitable love interest, the image of rural Ireland, and of course Christmas.    It is difficult to write something refreshing in the increasingly crowded market of festive fiction, but This Christmas is one of the standout stories of 2023, I highly recommend snuggling up with a mug of hot chocolate and something nice to nibble on whilst you are enveloped in this 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 star read. Probably the Best Kiss in the World by Pernille Hughes

I spent a weekend snuggled up in my living room with this  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ story, I enjoyed the characters almost as much as I wanted to knock some sense into them. Every single one of them was perfectly flawed, in as much I was rooting for them to succeed at the same time as shaking my head at their logic or lack thereof. It was most definitely the characters in this story that kept me reading, Jen being almost neurotic to Yakob.
