A good day (was blissfully unaware of the bad)
Hey peeps
I have no idea if peeps are reading my musings as no comments/reviews, not to worry this can always be a monologue :D
Today was a good day, much needed after yesterday.
I have calmed down and taken things into perspective, however I think work will be uncomfortable on Monday night :(
But I totally surprised myself (and the McDaddy) I decided to go for a walk on the beach (something I have not done in years, since the McPup aka Jedipups died.
I did about a 5 mile round trip I walked to the next village/town, a Victorian seaside resort, going to the butchers to buy 5kg of chicken breast (seems I live on it and pasta at the mo) then I decided to venture somewhere special. A place called Chocolatinis, a lovely little chocolatier, a place where if you were to buy a wedding cake they start from £200 (I nearly choked when she told me)
My reason for going: it is the McTwins and the McBils (brother-in-law) 1st wedding anniversary tomorrow and I wanted to get them something a little special, no not a £400 cake!
Going into local shops that sell such delicacies is nice, makes a change from the weekly food shop :) where things are local, or handmade, where you can watch them putting things together and then wrapping them in cellophane and decorating with ribbon just to make them extra special.
But I think I just enjoyed the day for what it was time alone to think with no pressure, expectation or anywhere I needed to be, I needed that.
The weather was perfect for it, a breeze coming off the sea, the smell of salt in the air slightly overcast but no rain. Very atmospheric giving me plenty of inspiration. (you may see the result of this sometime in the future ;p )
It wasn't until I had gotten home and had something to eat (yes chicken, pasta with a side salad) that I found out about the bombing and subsequent shooting in Oslo. Every time I see something like that it brings back memories and feelings that I won't go into but only strengthens my resolve against terrorism be it foreign or domestic #stopterrorism
Hopefully Norway will recover and there are no more incidents. My thoughts are with them tonight.
I'm signing off early tonight, it's 10pm here I've been up since 3pm yesterday and now the cramp from after the walk earlier is starting to subside I'm off to bed after reading a few pages of a newly purchased ebook.
For now take care all, and stay safe
