Mystery parcel
I’ve just arrived home after a 12 hour day shift to find an unexpected brown box on my dining room table. I take the package into the kitchen so I can inbox it’s mysterious contents, the postmark not giving any clue (my apologies, it’s been a long day and the penny dropped when I saw the connection inside, but first let me tell you a story...)
As many of you know we are coming upon that time of year that sucks me into the intensity of #NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, a yearly event to inspire anyone who wants to try there hand at writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 day.) I've posted many pictures of the workbook by @NataliaLeigh on my social media platforms, which I have been using during #Preptober, which has set me up nicely for the month ahead. One of the few things left on my to-do list was think of a reward system (It’s not easy to knock out 50k of new content so we need the incentive to not go insane.)
Rewards don’t have to be extravagant, they can be a cup of coffee and a cake, a trip to the cinema (@ZarebersI’m looking at you) or a random knickknack. But for the final reward of hitting 50k I like to get something special, which takes me back to last weekend.
I was down the Instagram wormhole last weekend when I came across a promotional code for a brand I have come to like for it’s quality and design, I hadn’t realised I could order direct from their website and have only made previous purchases via Tk Maxx. I had cause to message them, I won’t say why, but they got back to me almost straightaway, even though it was a Friday evening, the asked questions and then asked if okay if they look into it on Monday. That was fine with me as my plan was to order my reward now but not open it until I had earned it.
I was walking home from a 12 hour night shift on Monday when I received a DM asking for my home address as they would like to make a present for me. Now I don’t recommend giving your home address to people on social media but this was a direct message from a company I knew, I imagined that they were going to forward on a discount voucher that could be used in the UK.
Well this brings me back to the mystery box. As you might have guess it was not a voucher they have gifted me, but to my complete and utter amazement, they have sent what I planned to gift myself for completing my novel at the end of November. Seriously, this is amazing customer service (I do have to point out here that in no way have I been paid or gifted to promote their brand, trust me with my social media following wouldn’t get very far.)
But I would like to give my long winded and heartfelt thanks to @Semicolon.de for gifting me the #Semikolon Notebook Classic A5 Dotted I burgundy and the small pencil in the same colour.
