A Slice of Magic by A.G. Mayes


An enjoyable but quirky ⭐⭐⭐⭐ read.
I really enjoyed this story, it’s been a while since I have read anything paranormal and this was a real treat. If you are not into paranormal fiction don’t be put off, it is only one part of the much bigger picture. A Slice of Magic has a bit of mystery, crime, romance, and comedy to boot, it would be so easy to get overwhelmed by the multi-genres, but A.G. Mayes has combined them into a well-rounded story.
I found it a little tricky to get started but as I read, I could feel myself being drawn into the Morning Pie Crew, a group of friends from all walks of life who chat, gossip and eat pie before noon, my kind of people.

This Christmas by Emma Heatherington

  What a cosy feel, good read.   I love Emma Heatherington’s latest book, it combines some of my favourite things, cosy feels, a dog, a suitable love interest, the image of rural Ireland, and of course Christmas.    It is difficult to write something refreshing in the increasingly crowded market of festive fiction, but This Christmas is one of the standout stories of 2023, I highly recommend snuggling up with a mug of hot chocolate and something nice to nibble on whilst you are enveloped in this 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 star read. Probably the Best Kiss in the World by Pernille Hughes

I spent a weekend snuggled up in my living room with this  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ story, I enjoyed the characters almost as much as I wanted to knock some sense into them. Every single one of them was perfectly flawed, in as much I was rooting for them to succeed at the same time as shaking my head at their logic or lack thereof. It was most definitely the characters in this story that kept me reading, Jen being almost neurotic to Yakob.
