Mixtape: A Love Song Anthology


This ⭐⭐⭐⭐ review refers to Wild Pitch by Rebecca Shea and Your Everything K.L. Kreig.

First off based on these two stories alone I have pre-ordered the whole anthology and can’t wait to read the rest of them.

Wild Pitch is a seriously hot second chance romance which I enjoy, it was short, snappy and perfect for my daily commute. I loved the plot, the situation they found themselves in and the way the characters interacted with each other. One of the bonuses of a second chance romance is that I feel like I’m getting two stories in one, the then and now. This is up there as one of my favourite Rebecca Shea reads.

Your everything is a prequel to the highly acclaimed Black Swan Affair, which I’m being honest was not my favourite K.L. Kreig story (I know I’m in a minority here, but I was not in the right headspace to read it at the time) but even so I could appreciate it for its well-written style and wonderfully dark characterisation. K.L. has not failed to disappoint with her prequel, it was great to get a little more backstory for the brothers and the situation they found themselves in with Maverick.

This Christmas by Emma Heatherington

  What a cosy feel, good read.   I love Emma Heatherington’s latest book, it combines some of my favourite things, cosy feels, a dog, a suitable love interest, the image of rural Ireland, and of course Christmas.    It is difficult to write something refreshing in the increasingly crowded market of festive fiction, but This Christmas is one of the standout stories of 2023, I highly recommend snuggling up with a mug of hot chocolate and something nice to nibble on whilst you are enveloped in this 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 star read. Probably the Best Kiss in the World by Pernille Hughes

I spent a weekend snuggled up in my living room with this  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ story, I enjoyed the characters almost as much as I wanted to knock some sense into them. Every single one of them was perfectly flawed, in as much I was rooting for them to succeed at the same time as shaking my head at their logic or lack thereof. It was most definitely the characters in this story that kept me reading, Jen being almost neurotic to Yakob.
